The Ircus Came To Town
By on May 23, 2008

We’d seen several posters throughout the week for a circus that was coming to town, but never thought we’d be able to go. We asked as nicely as we could if there was any possible way that we could go, seeing as we didn’t have anything planned for that night (it was a Tuesday), as well as the fact that it would be terribly exciting.
To our immense surprise, Kelly announced that we would spend our night at the surely-luxurious Harrismith circus! Needless to say we were all excited for a night out, only enhanced by the fact that we got to eat dinner at Nandos, a local restaurant.
The first thing we saw when we drove up was the big sign saying Brian Boswell’s Ircus! The ‘C’ had burnt out on the sign, and combined with the look of the tent, it made the situation only funnier. The circus ended up being a lonely one-ring, but was much more entertaining than we’d believed. There was a certain trapeze artist named Martinez that we bonded with and the rest of the circus workers were happy to meet us as well. All in all it was a terrific night, complete with red noses, popcorn, and candy floss (cotton candy).
