Water Parks and Leadership
By on October 28, 2008

A few weekends ago, we spent four days in sunny, warm, and beautiful Durban. We split our time between a water park, Global Leadership Summit, and the Indian Ocean which was literally right outside our window.
We visited the largest water park in South Africa, and had an absolutely amazing time. Most of the interns even got into a shark tank with just a plastic tube separating them from the sharks! We spent the rest of the day spinning down water slides and kayaking. Oh, and don’t forget shopping!

We got down to business the next day, and attended the first day of the Global Leadership Summit conference—a conference that is run in America, but broadcast in satellite locations all over the world. The speakers were incredible, and we spent 2 days scribbling notes furiously on our papers and trying to soak in all of the leadership knowledge that we had the privilege of listening to.
Every night and morning found us at the beach; all we had to do was walk out of our flat and out of the gate, and we were right there! The waves were huge, and we had a great time battling our way through all of them to enjoy the coolness of the water and the beauty of the scenery.
All in all, the trip was a great experience; we had lots of fun, and were also impacted and changed in more ways than one!
