Don’t worry–it won’t be all work and no play! We like to set up the team schedule so there is one free day each week. This way the team has some down time to relax and get refreshed for the next week of ministry. We also suggest ending the trip with an overnight safari trip. Nothing compares to experiencing God’s awesome creation on an African safari adventure.
We’ll put together a free-day package based on your desires and budget. Opportunities include:
On arrival as part of training:
- Low ropes course activities - Team building, development of communication and team problem-solving skills
Day Activities: (for the Saturday/Sunday mid-trip)
- Day trip to a Lion park - View lions up-close and possibly hold cubs; eat lunch at a restaurant.
- Day trip to the town of Clarens - Drive through the Golden Gate National Park to this quaint mountain town. Once there, enjoy shopping, art gallery perusing, and lunch at one of the many restaurants.
- Mountain hiking - Spend time walking around the mission base, enjoying the scenery, and hiking the mountains.
Last Two Days of the Trip:
- Overnight safari - Spend the night at one of South Africa’s finest game reserves, home to an abundance of animals including the “Big 5″: lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo. Take a glimpse at the experience you’d get at Mabula Game Reserve.
- Shopping in an African market
We’ll discuss scheduling and availability with you. Not all options may fit into your trip schedule. We’ll work with you on putting together a ministry schedule and free-day activity package that you are excited about.
