We promise to make this summer one you will remember forever. You’ll have authentic hands-on missions experiences through ministry in rural villages, building relationships with nationals, and discipling local Believers.

Make friends for life

At Thrive Africa we believe in working hard, but also in playing hard. As you serve and have fun alongside your teammates, you will forge bonds and grow together in unimaginable ways. During your down time you’ll need to be creative at keeping yourselves entertained (this is rural Africa, don’t forget!), which most assuredly brings out the quirks of those on your team. You’ll do more than exchange MySpace and Facebook details… You will go home with genuine friends.

Real ministry

Your days will be filled with ministry opportunities, in a variety of forms. You will:

• Work on the base to keep things clean and organized
• Spend some evenings working in the coffee bar or curio (gift) shop
• Engage in relationship evangelism in the villages, alongside your teammates
• Do hospital ministry and run an afternoon children’s club
• Participate in devotions with your team for personal and team development

What about sleeping and eating?

You will be staying on our 2,500-acre base in cabins with other Next Step interns. Each cabin has its own bathroom–complete with running (hot!) water and electricity.

You’ll get 3 square meals a day in our eating hall, where you’ll eat buffet-style with our mission teams.There’s also places for you to hang out, play cards, watch a movie, and use the internet.

Safari time

You should definitely bring your camera… The wildlife you’ll be able to see not only on the base, but also on safari, will make your jaw drop. You’ll be spending a night on safari with your team — a chance to see elephants, giraffe, zebra, rhino, lion, and more. God’s creativity will astound you as your eyes are exposed to the beauty of African wildlife.
