So what is the life of an intern like? Twenty4Seven provides hands-on experience so you can learn for yourself what’s fact and what’s fiction about mission work. When you leave at the end of the year, we want you to be able to say that you embraced another culture, gained a better understanding of missions, and grew in your relationship with the Lord. In addition to your weekly ministry outreaches, your days will be filled with plenty of opportunities for personal growth.
Hang out with people just like you that also have a heart for Africa.

You’ll cultivate genuine friendships as you serve alongside other young men and women who desire to use their gifts and abilities to impact this nation for His glory. Living and working together, you will see God through your teammates, and you will grow closer to Him as you serve the Basotho people as well as each other.
Classes taught by our missionaries
You’ll learn a lot about missions and cross-cultural issues through in-depth studies and classes designed to ready you for a life of ministry. All the classes are taught by our team of stellar missionary staff. Who better to teach you about missions and life on the field than full-time missionaries?
The curriculum is focused on exploring God’s heart for the world, effective missions, and Godly leadership. Classes cover topics such as:
- Leadership
- Evangelism
- Missions
- Prayer
- Vision
- Character development
- Biblical studies
You are considered and treated as part of the team, not as “just an intern”. You’ll join the staff for weekly prayer meetings and biweekly staff development meetings.
Free time, town time, and fun time
Living in rural Africa, you’ll learn that creativity is a must when it comes to keeping yourself entertained. During your down time you might take a stroll on the base, watch a movie (yes, we have TV), play cards… You get the idea. You’ll also sharpen your Betty Crocker skills by cooking for yourselves on the weekends. Once a week you’ll have the opportunity to go into town to buy groceries, visit a coffee shop (an intern favorite), and peruse the local stores.
Your schedule is full and you’ll definitely be busy, but you’ll also have sufficient free time to relax, keep in touch with friends and family, hang out with your teammates, and do homework. You’ll have access to wireless internet on the base (so bringing a laptop is helpful), as long as the internet is up (this is Africa, don’t forget).
What about sleeping and eating?
You will be staying on our 2,500-acre base in apartment-style houses with two or three other interns. Each unit has its own bathroom, bookshelves, and closet. Your view is spectacular, too. On any given day, you may see zebra, springbok, wildebeest, or ostrich roaming by your room.

You’ll get 3 square meals a day in our eating hall, where you’ll eat buffet-style on the weekdays. During the weekends, you’ll all be cooking for yourselves whatever you heart desires.
There’s also the intern Living Room where you can curl up on a couch with a book, watch a movie, or play games.
